Last night just before 9:00 PM, The Holtsville Fire Department responded to this Motor Vehicle Accident accident on Express Drive South. As a result of the accident, one of the saddle tanks on the tractor trailer was ruptured and leaked approximately 150 gallons of diesel fuel onto the roadway. The Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshall’s Office, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and Suffolk County Police Department Motor Carrier Units were also on scene to help secure the area and truck involved. One patient was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. Units operated for almost three hours before returning to service.
